The pedigree of Shady Blue jumps off the page. An exceptional bloodline combined with looks, presence and completeness. His good character shines through and is clearly visible in his way of jumping. He shows enormous commitment over the fence, with excellent technique, very good use of both front legs and hindquarters, and a lot of ease. He is quick off the ground, light-footed, careful and jumps with a big, powerful canter. A true blood horse with an engine that never switches off.

In terms of model and presence, he would not look out of place at a stallion licensing. Strongly built, correct and with plenty of front. The breeder firmly believes in letting horses grow and mature without asking too much at a young age. Therefore, Shady Blue comes straight from the field and has only now been introduced to jumping as he turns four. It clearly shows how much natural talent he has. He is halter broken, but that is about it – otherwise still very green. A horse that gives everything and shows so much natural ability that it would have been a shame to push him earlier.

Sire Chacco-Blue competed himself at 1.60 m Grand Prix level and is one of the most influential stallions worldwide, producing countless top-level horses such as Explosion W, Blue Movie and Chadino.

The damline is exceptionally strong and internationally proven. Dam Carthagena Z, by Carthago Z, produced an impressive list of international sport horses including Zerl y (1.60 m), Everse W (1.60 m, multiple CSI5* wins in Spruce Meadows), Google (1.45 m), Hero W (1.45 m), I-Star (1.45 m) and many others. Further down the line we find approved stallions and 1.50–1.60 m performers such as Allegro and Dakota, confirming the extraordinary reliability of this family

Shady Blue combines extreme pedigree, natural quality and presence. A four-year-old with everything it takes for the future.
