Sambuca is a big, athletic horse with blood and plenty of scope. He is quick off the ground, shows a good front-leg technique and jumps with a lot of ease. Over the fence he clearly displays scope and uses his hind leg good. Despite his size, he is light-footed and supple in his movement. The engine is on.. A horse with blood, but showing clear quality and potential for sport.
Sire Emerald van ’t Ruytershof competed himself at 1.60 m Grand Prix level and won, among others, the World Cup Final in Gothenburg as well as major international classes in Bordeaux and Chantilly. He is one of today’s leading sires, producing numerous international top horses at 1.60–1.70 m level, including Imothep, Kasper van het Hellehof and Imerald van ’t Voorhof. Emerald is known for passing on scope, mentality and reflexes.
The damline is exceptionally strong and deeply proven in sport. Dam Blackberry (by Larino) competed at 1.45 m level with international results. Granddam Vilotte (by Kannan GFE) also competed at 1.45 m and produced multiple sport horses. This damline includes an impressive list of international performers such as Elton John (1.50 m), Foxy W (1.45 m), Alan 111 Z (1.50 m), Accent Z (1.50 m), Hosanne ES (1.45 m), Little Gold ES (1.40 m) and Baby Lotte, who won at 1.60 m Grand Prix level in Hickstead and Barcelona. The family also produced several approved stallions, confirming its exceptional reliability.
Sambuca brings together size, blood, technique and scope with a proven international performance pedigree, making him a very interesting prospect for the future.
