Winston DG is a three-year-old gelding with long lines, blood, and natural suppleness. He stands tall, moves with elasticity, and shows sharp reflexes and scope in free jumping – all signs of an exciting young talent in the making. His pedigree may not be the most obvious at first glance, but that’s exactly why he deserves to be introduced. He is by Replay van ’t Paradijs, an up-and-coming star from the Stephex Stables, born out of a top-quality dam line. His grandsire, Chaiton F Z, was a horse full of potential, taken too soon, but remembered for his talent. On the dam’s side we find Happy Easter du Rezidal, a son of Optiebeurs Concern, who famously won the Volvo World Cup in Antwerp with Albert Voorn. Happy Easter is also a sister to Big Ben, the legendary showjumper who won Spruce Meadows five times! With this kind of background, it’s no surprise that Winston DG shows all the right ingredients. Athleticism, reflexes, and a naturally careful jumping technique make him an exciting project for the future. For the sharp-eyed horseperson, Winston DG may just be one of those rare young talents ready to be developed into something special.
