Houston VK Z is a 7-year-old gelding who has jumped internationally up to 1.35m including wins and placings within his age categories on the Youngster tours. He has been performing steadily throughout the season and is completely ready to advance to a higher level. He is a compact horse with excellent confirmation and he would be suitable for an ambitious amateur or as an equitation horse. He has a nice regular canter and will certainly excel as he moves up to higher levels within show-jumping.

Houston’s sire is Heineken VK, a son of the legendary Zirocco Blue, who combines the best of Dutch and French breeding and was one of the world’s best jumpers with his rider Jur Vrieling. Zirocco Blue’s offspring have reached Grand Prix level internationally. His grandsire Rebel II Z was not only a valuable sire himself, but was also a full brother to the legendary mare Ratina Z. The mother Heineken VK’s line is also excellent, the dam Regina Adelheid Z herself jumped to 1.35m and produced many international jumpers, such as Regino with Camilla Enemark and Alme Adelheid Z. Heineken VK himself has successfully competed at the Dutch Young Horse Championships since he was 4 years old and has continued into his show-jumping career.

Hollywood VK’s dam has herself also jumped at 1.50m and is a daughter of the World Equestrian Games and European Championships Team Gold Medal winning stallion Berlin. After successful licenses and approvals in Holland (March 2003) and under his former name of Caspar in Oldenburg (January 2005), Eurocommerce Berlin, ridden by Gerco Schröder, built an international reputation by contributing to the Dutch team’s golds at the 2006 World Equestrian Games (Aachen) and at the 2007 European Championship’s (Mannheim). His sire is the phenomenon of Holstein breeding Cassini I and his dam Estia, daughter of Caretina, was herself internationally successful. Houston’s maternal pedigree also includes the stallion Toulon, whose name often appears behind many top sport horses.
