Kannan GFE – Corrado II – Kordon Fuge

Gelding, 2016

Size: 167 cm

Kumano is an eight-year-old descendant of Kannan, who fully meets the expectations of a sports horse with his pedigree. Kumano is a strong, very capable and impressive gelding. He is distinguished by an energetic canter, a powerful and scopey jump and perfect technique. The higher the jump, the better he operates. He displays great willingness to jump and is very careful. He has competed up to 1.35m. As a six and seven year old he competed on the international youngster tours, where, especially as a seven year old, he secured many top ten finishes, including two wins, a second and a third place. This gelding is extremely talented and should be interesting for both professional riders and, due to his rideability, for very ambitious amateur riders. He is fully ready to jump bigger tracks. Kannan, who passed away in 2020, is the only KWPN stallion who has led the WBFSH Show Jumping Sire Ranking. This international Grand Prix stallion made a name for himself in the sport in France and then did so worldwide in breeding. Kannan’s first crops directly achieved unprecedented successes in sport, from young horses competitions through to sthe Olympic Games. His son Nino des Buissonnets, for example, became Olympic champion in 2012 with Steve Guerdat. Other Grand Prix winners by Kannan are Albführen’s Paille (also Guerdat), Quabris de l’Isle (Pedro Venis), Molly Malone (Bertram Allen), Quorida de Treho (Romain Duguet) and Diva II (Ben Maher). Kannan has been, is and will remain for a long time amongst the best Sire of winners in the world. Strength, respect and bravery are the three precious assets that he passes to his offspring, making him one of the most valued sires. His dam Nastasja is sired by Corrado II, who combines the blood of the two great Cs – Cor de la Bryère and Capitol, with a healthy dose of Thoroughbred on the dam line through Maestose xx and Frivol xx – and yes, all those familiar names appear on their pedigrees. Corrado ended his successful sports career early due to injury, but his breeding index is an extraordinary 133 points (84%).
