Avalon’s sire, Jazzy des Dames, has two Olympic stallions in a row with Emerald van ’t Ruytershof and Calvaro, followed by the 5* GP stallion Kannan. Based on their offspring, the three stallions belong to the top 18 of the WBFSH sire ranking. Jazzy des Dames therefore has the showjumping blood of no stranger. Last year he completed a completely clear course in the three heats and the final of the stallion competition for 7-year-olds, which earned him the title of vice champion. Afterwards he continued to realize clear rounds during international competitions for young horses. The 8-year-old Jazzy des Dames is now performing at international three- and four-star level (1m50 to 1m55).

The dam of Avalon, Isaura van de Meerputhoeve (BWP dam line 68), competed at 1m40 level (in partnership with Amber Goethals) and produced Oasis van de Bucxtale (5*, Natalie Dean) and Qaboom van de Bucxtale (1m40 level, Clarissa Hassmann Crotta). Isaura is a half-sister to West-Side VD Meerputhoeve (including team gold at the European Championship in Windsor, winner of the World Cup class in Athens), Felitia VD Meerputhoeve (including 3rd place in the 4* GP of Munich and dam of the 5* GP horse Jacobien Dwerse Hagen) and to Donia VD Meerputhoeve. Donia produced, amongst others, Letitia VD Meerputhoeve (obtained silver at the national LRV championship eventing class L, 2022), Kiara VD Meerputhoeve (in class L winner of the very first LRV eventing competition in Sint-Gillis-Waas, 2019) and Vermicelli VD Meerputhoeve (4th in the final of the national championship BWP Elite foals, 2021).
