Alfons van d’Abdijhoeve unites two well-bred dam lines in his pedigree: the Qerly Chin lineage in the sire line (number 34), the Quinette Ut lineage in the maternal line (number 13). Alfons makes part of the first vintage of Tartufo de Muze. Shortly after Tartufo’s approval at BWP, Christophe De Brabander stated: ‘Tartufo is a complete stallion with a lot of charisma in every respect. After the second phase I rode him for a while. He is very easy to ride, nicely balanced. He jumps well and cooperates well. He is not only a complete stallion, but also a complete showjumper. I firmly believe in him. His pedigree is also very interesting: Chacco-Blue x Heartbreaker.’ In addition to Tartufo, Azuela de Muze produced two other approved stallions (Uelo and Royalo de Muze), as well as the international showjumpers Felini de la Pomme (4*, Regis Bouguennec) and Vedet de Muze (5*, Joe Clee). Tartufo does not deny his origins: this year he was clear in several heats and the final of the stallion competition for four-year-olds.

Quinta van d’Abdijhoeve, the dam of Alfons, was an eyecatcher as a young horse: as a four-year-old finalist at the Belgian championship and the number of clear cycle heats as a five, six and seven-year-old cannot be counted on our two hands. Quinta’s dam, Vanite van de Heffinck, is the next strong link in the dam line. She produced Dax van d’Abdijhoeve (former 5* Grand Prix horse of Pieter Devos), Atlantic DV (1m50 level) and Massimo van d’Abdijhoeve (as a 7-year-old finalist in Valkenswaard and then competed at 1m40 to 1m45 level). Vanite is a full sister to BWP ambassador Bush van de Heffinck and BWP Elite stallion Utrillo van de Heffinck (1m60 level, Walter Lapertot). Bush (sports name ASB Conquistador) has achieved success in the international five-star circuit for years, mainly under the saddle of Karl Cook.
