Delvaux — a name that already hints at quality. And this 3-year-old gelding does not disappoint. He combines scope, correctness and modern sharpness. The power he displays comes clearly from his sire Diamant de Semilly, while Casall, through his paternal granddam, adds the reactivity and blood needed in today’s top-level sport.
Delvaux was bred with care and vision by De Jolie – Lies De Backer, who expertly combined genetics to produce excellence. His great-granddam Evita B competed at 1.45m level with Vicky van De Poel, and is the full sister to several internationally renowned sport horses. The standout among them is VDL Groep Santana B, who competed up to 1.60m with Dutch rider Leopold van Asten. Half-sister Mistieke also reached 1.50m with the same rider.
Other notable relatives include Luxgood (by Lux), who competed at the highest level with Canadian rider Jonathan Asselin, and Patrick (by Calvados), who did the same with South African rider Grant Langley.
A brief look into this damline reveals a treasure trove of sport success. Delvaux is a promising young horse with everything it takes to make his mark in the ring.
