Thanks to Ashton van de Smeets, you can acquire a son of the promising Ermitage Kalone, crossed with a dam line that includes two BWP Elite dams and several showjumpers from the 1m60 circuit. Under the saddle of Gilles Thomas, Ermitage Kalone is working towards a successful career in top sport. At the age of 8, Ermitage Kalone already made his international five-star debut. This year he performed several times in Vejer de la Frontera (4*, 1m45 to 1m55 level). In almost every showjumping class he participated in, he left the arena with a clear round. As a breeding stallion, he has also given his business card several times. In 2021, for example, his daughter Valkyrie JM became champion at the BWP national Elite foal championship and his son Sunday JM was honoured as 1st reserve champion at the BWP stallion selection. This year his son Ultra Star JM was crowned BWP champion stallion in the option showjumping.
Ashton’s dam line is a succession of top performance blood. Pipa van de Smeets, Ashton’s dam, is a BWP Elite dam. Before starting her sport career, she produced Saline van de Smeets (by Diamant de Semilly) and Truman van de Smeets (by Nixon van het Meulenhof), both of whom have been selected for the final of the SBB competition for young horses 2023. In partnership with Koen Geerits, Pipa remained double correct last year in the cycle heat in Opglabbeek and became provincial champion in the Z class. Pipa’s dam, Lorien van de Smeets, died at the age of four. She is a full sister to Gomes van de Smeets who performed at international 1m60 level. Pipa’s granddam, D’Ulien van de Smeets, completes the picture. This BWP Elite dam collected several top ten places in five-star competitions, including in Calgary, and was even on the long list for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2018. With such hereditary baggage, it is written in the stars that a beautiful future is reserved for Ashton van de Smeets.
