She’d only just come out of the rearing programme. And although she was well-handled, easy-going and blessed with a superb temperament, this mare hadn’t really experienced much yet. It says a lot about her attitude that, straight out of the rearing programme, she demonstrated her superb temperament by jumping through her new surroundings without any problems. Apart from that good attitude, we also saw a horse with potential. Good reflexes, awareness and balance characterised her jumping style. These traits are also typical of this Nuberta line. The fact that her sire, Nondeju, is currently making great strides in competition at Leon Thijssen’s stables – and was himself bred from the 1m55 Grand Prix winner Ulena – further raises expectations for this easy-going, high-quality auction lot.
